W hen is Forest Edge Music Festival?

Forest Edge Music Festival is held on the long weekend in March, which is the 11th - 13th of March, 2017. The gates open at 10:00am on Saturday 11th March and people leave by 10:00am on Monday 13th March. There is no actual programming on Monday the 13th except for breakfast and pack up.

C an we arrive before the gates open?

Although we appreciate your enthusiasm... No. Gates open at 10:00am.

I s Forest Edge a Christian Music Festival?

Yes, we run Forest Edge Music Festival because we love God, love young people and love music. But that does not mean that the music is all praise and worship music that you would hear in church. There is a diverse range of genres (and volume levels). In addition to the music, there are a variety of workshops exploring the subjects of faith and arts, and one of the highlights of festival each year is the church service on the Sunday morning.

I 'm not a Christian, can I still come?

We're sorry that this is even a question, but it does get asked a lot. Yes, please come! We hope we are able to make everyone feel welcome.

W ho is playing at Forest Edge Music Festival?

You can see a full list of artists and info here.

Or check out the full schedule for the weekend here

W here do we stay?

Camping at festival is in tents. There is plenty of space to pitch your tent, with separate sections for youth groups and families. We have limited caravan spaces available (more info)

W hat about food?

A variety of food vendors will be available on-site to cater for the festival, from main meals to snacks. Limited cooking facilities will be available (ie. hot water, BBQ). You may not bring portable gas cookers and the like. Obviously there are also a variety of foods that you may bring with you that don't need refrigeration or cooking etc. But seriously, support our food vendors, they're great!

C an I bring my pet llama?

No, unfortunately there are no pets allowed at the festival (except assistance animals such as guide dogs)

A re there other things I shouldn't bring to festival?

We're glad you asked. Forest Edge Music Festival is a drug and alcohol free family-friendly all-ages festival and also a non-smoking venue. Basically anything that does not line up with the family-friendly nature of festival should not be brought along. Leave them home with the pet llama.

D o I need to bring money?

Although it is possible to enjoy festival without the following, there are some great reasons to bring some cash:

  • Buy some merch or CD's to support your favourite artists
  • Buy some scrumptious goodies from our food vendors
  • Give a donation to our wonderful sponsors

W hat's the mobile reception like?

Optus - very good. Telstra - not so good. You can definitely get service with all networks, but just might need to find the right spot to do so, and might not get the best reception if your phone's in your pocket. But hey, you're meant to be enjoying festival anyway.

C an I come for part of the time?

Obviously we'd love everybody to be there for the whole weekend, but if you can only make it for part of the time, you can purchase either a Saturday or Sunday pass for half the price of a full weekend pass.

C an I buy tickets at the gate?

You can... But here are some reasons to pre-purchase your tickets:

  • They're cheaper when you pre-purchase
  • Your arrival at festival is smoother
  • It makes an enormous difference to us in our planning

Yes - You can check out some of the photos from previous years here, or check us out on Youtube for some videos. Or basically just search for "Forest Edge Music Festival" and you'll find plenty.

W here do we park our cars? Can we park our cars with our tent?

Our car park is adjacent to the camping area, but due to OH&S considerations, we need to keep cars and tents in two separate areas. But it's literally only about a 30 second walk between the two.

I don't really like music, will I still enjoy the weekend?

There is so much more to festival than music. If you want, you can just relax in the natural beauty of Forest Edge, grab a coffee, have some good conversations with friends, attend a workshop, join in with some fun activities. Most people don't spend their whole weekend going from one band to the next. Obviously music is a big part of the festival, but there's so much more than just that.
